History of Srinagar Railway Station

Today in the Indian Railways Fact we will discuss here about the place which is known as Earth’s Heaven that is Srinagar.In this we will get to know the intresting facts and also the thing that we dont know about this Station.Srinagar is a beautiful place in India full of nature’s beauty situated all over with the hills.

Srinagar is an excellent place to visit for sightseeing and enjoying nature’s beautiful valley which is surrounded by hills,jungles in the Himalayas.It is a very good tourist place to be visited all the tourists of the world.But till now there is no single rail line to be connected straight forward from all over India to Srinagar railway station.

So how the Railway station is made in this beautiful place.Srinagar Railways stationis situated on the Jammu Tavi and Baramulla railway line that comes under the Northern Railway zone of the Indian Railways.Srinagar Railway Station inauguration was done in the year 2008 and code of this station is SINA which has a total of four tracks with number of three platforms.

The Station designing is done with the Kashmiri wood in a architectural way so that the station looks like a royal court.The Jammu Tavi – Baramulla railway line which 338 kms vast and is not built fully.As we know the trains are working from Baramulla to Banihal Railway station in the middle of which the Srinagar Railway station is built up from were the Kargil – Leh Planning is also done.

As we know the trains work from the Jammu Railway station to Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Railway station that the work is not complete from Katra to Banihal.Srnagar Railway station is built up but it is very difficult to reach here with the help of trains.

Indian Railways has made many records while building the line like Pir Panjaal Railway Tunnel which is build by cutting the tunnel between the mountains and is eleven kilometres long which make it as the India’s longest railway tunnel.This tunnel helps in connecting the Hilar Shahbad to Banihal Railway Station.

On this Route second longest tunnel is also building whose work is still going on is named as Sangaldan tunnel which is seven kilometres long and also longest Arche Bridge is also been built on the Chenab River known as the Chenab Bridge.The Completion of this project deadline is set on 2022.With the Completion of these project the tourist can reach Srinagar Railway Station easily who are now reaching here by roadways and Airways.
