Taj Express: Pioneering Swift Journeys

In 1964, the Taj Express embarked on its historic route from New Delhi to Agra. Designed for tourists, it slashed travel time from over three hours to approximately two and a half hours. This high-speed marvel allowed visitors to explore the Taj Mahal and nearby monuments before returning to Delhi.

Initially pulled by a steam engine, it later transitioned to diesel locomotives and extended its reach to Gwalior and Jhansi. The Taj Express remains a testament to seamless rail travel, connecting India’s cultural gems.
