Bijnor Railway Station which is located in the Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh is undergoing a major redevelopment project to improve its facilities and services. The project which was started in 2023 aims to enhance the passenger amenities, safety, security, and aesthetics of the station.
Some of the features of the redevelopment project include:
- A new station building with modern architecture and design
- A spacious concourse area with escalators, lifts, and ramps
- A foot over bridge connecting all the platforms
- Improved lighting, ventilation, and sanitation systems
- CCTV cameras, baggage scanners, and metal detectors for security
- A multi-level parking facility for vehicles
- A green area with landscaping and water fountains
The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2024, and will benefit the commuters and tourists who visit the station. The station, which handles about 20 trains and 10,000 passengers daily, will become a model of smart and sustainable development for other railway stations in the country.
