Fare of Some Passenger Trains Equal to Express Trains ?

In Indian Railways Many types of Trains run on the track such as Mail ,Superfast,Express, Passenger, Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto etc. These trains are categorised on the basis of their maximum permissible speed, service and number of stoppage.

Welcome to RailSuvidha :- The Hotspot of Indian Railways were we provide you with the information about the happenings round the Indian Railways such news ,facts and blogs etc.

Likewise if any train average speed is above 55 kilometres per hour and has limited number of stops then it is kept in Superfast Category. This also includes the train whose average speed is above 45 kilometres per hour and stops only at major stations then that train is kept under express category.

On the Basis of categorisation of trains Fares to be charged from the passengers are decided accordingly. But some of the trains are included in the express category and they also have the fare of express trains but they stop at every station like passenger trains.

So Today in this post we will discuss that when some trains stops at every station why the fares are charged from the travellers as of express train.in the Indian Railways the fares are charged on the basis of the category in which the train has been put on and not on the basis of its stoppage. This means that every category such as Mail.Superfast,Rajdhani eyc have different range of fares amount.

Here the stoppage doesn’t play any role in the fare amount because the stoppage is decided on the basis of village population, demand and amount of passengers that will board the train. Some trains that are running from old times because that time trains were less in number then these trains need to be stopped at every station and the number of stations was more.

That is why these trains are having stoppage of same number as of old times but recently these trains are converted into express trains in which fares are charged on the basis of express category. This post concludes that fares of the trains of the indian railways are dependent on the facilities provide to the people travelling inside the train.
