As we all know that Indian Railways have cancelled all the passenger trains till 3 May. Only goods trains are alllowed to work between this period so as to carry essential commodities from one place to another to fulfill the people’s need in the country due to lockdown situation.
In Between this period Goods train of Indian Railways have created a history by which you all will get suprised.This Goods train runs from Dhardiwal district of Punjab to New Jalpayiguri in the south which is named as Annapurna Goods train has covered a distance of across 1634 kilometres in just 49 hours and 50 minutes.
This Goods trains was before when there was no lockdown was taking time from 96 to 100 hours to cover such distance.This duration of time was taken by the goods train because the passenger trains were running due to which less signal time was given.
That is why in the lockdown period in which the passenger trains were closed by the Indian Railways this Goods train has created history due to which it has been given the name as Annapurna train.If you all we do the calculation of the train time the speed was not as much.But this is the first time that in so much less time the train has covered a vast distance.
Annapurna train as name give its meaning the “full of food” which means that this is train is running for humanity to fullfill all the needs of essential commodities for the people of the country.This is for the first time in the history that goods train has transported essential commodities and goods to the needful states all across the country.And also it has covered so vast distance in such less time period.
