Indian Railways to achieve the motive of Swach Bharat and Swach Railways for which staff is appointed in the trains and who have a duty during the travelling of the people in the trains so as to provide the clean and hygienic train so that inside the coach of some important trains such as Shatabdi Trains and Rajdhani Trains people such as cleaning staffs are appointed for On Board Housing Staff services.
We can also note that these people who are appointed as On Board Housing Staff services have a duty in the reserved coaches to clean and mantain the Hygiene inside the train running on different routes.Although we as the people of India have a duty as to not create a mess inside the coach during our journey in the Indian Railways.But if by mistake a mess is created by the people inside the coach then its duty of the people to inform the On Board Housing Staff people to clean the coach of the train.
To apply for the Job in the Indian Railways to be appointed as On Board Housing Staff are done on the contractual basis in which the Indian Railways provides a contract to the private company who has taken up the contract will be having duty to fill up all the vacant places of the staff and assigned the duty to them accordingly.For one train eight to ten staff members are assigned under a group to work which contains a supervisor for instructions.
The Journey of the On Board Housing Staff starts from the origin station of the train in which they are dressed in the uniforms and have to give their attendance to the supervisor of Washing Line.After the attendance,the suoervisor provides all the equipments such as wipers,washing chemicals,bucket,wiping cloth etc from the origin railway station.And the chemicals used inside the trains are approved by the standard brand which are safe to clean and maintain a hygiene inside the coach.
On Board Housing Staff is assigned to clean the full coach area that includes gangway area,coach,toilet and dustbins in which the staff also has a duty to put the black polythene inside the dustbin to collect waste and fill the handwash liquid in the bottles and also change the tissue roles in the toilet from time to time etc.
For the services of the people who are travelling in these trains the Indian Railways have provided the helpline number on which they can send a sms to the railways and call the cleaning staff on their seat for the cleaning of the coach.So After the cleaning of the coach the staff will be providing the people with a feedback form in which the people travelling have to rate the cleanliness service of the coach.
The On Board Housing Staff is assigned to do their job on the specific time and one time in a coach.The staff already have been given instructions to not to clean the coach from 10 pm in the night till 6 am in the morning till there is any need of cleaning inside the coach.
