Vivek Express: A Journey Across India’s Diversity

India is a vast and diverse country, with many cultures, languages, religions, and landscapes. One of the best ways to experience this diversity is by travelling on the Vivek Express were a chain of express trains that connect different corners of the country. The Vivek Express trains were named after Swami Vivekananda who is a Hindu monk and philosopher who travelled across India and abroad to spread his message of peace and harmony.

The most famous of the Vivek Express trains is the one that runs from Dibrugarh in Assam to Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu, covering a distance of 4,273 km in 82 hours and 45 minutes. Along the way, the train passes through nine states and 57 stations, offering a glimpse of the varied scenery, culture, and cuisine of India. The train crosses the mighty Brahmaputra river, the green hills of West Bengal and Odisha, the coastal plains of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, the backwaters of Kerala, and the Western Ghats mountain range. The train also stops at some of the important historical and religious sites of India, such as Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Puri, Chennai, Madurai, and Rameswaram.

The Vivek Express is not just a train, but a journey of discovery, adventure, and inspiration. It is a journey that celebrates the unity in diversity of India.
