Why Red Color Clock is Used on the Railway Stations?

While Doing a railway journey you all must have seen the clocks being used at Railway station. These clocks are placed at the platforms which are having leds of red colour that tell us the specific time.

Now the Indian Railways are planning to change all these clocks and led boards which are in red colour to blue or white colour.Today we will discuss in this blog that why the Indian Railways are changing the colour of these led boards from red to blue or white colour.

Welcome to Rail Suvidha :- The Hotspot of Indian Railways were we provide you the information regarding the news, facts and blogs of the Indian Railways.

Led which means light emitting diode is used in red colour on the railways stations so that it can be seen from far away that is why the clock and announcement board on the railway station were using it.

But now the order has been given by the Indian Railways to change the led board colour from red to blue or white colour which is now on the process of changing it slowly at all the railway stations.

The main reason to change the colour of these led boards is that the red colour is always known as the colour of danger which is used as a stop signal for the trains. And the Locopilot of the train has not to pass that signal at any cost.

So if the Locopilot will pass these led boards many times on the railway station, on which the red colour has been used with which they will get a habit of passing the red colour. This is not psychologically correct for the Locopilots to create that habit.

Because of this,if they get in a habit of passing the red colour boards on the railway stations but by mistake if they pass the red signal which can lead to major accidents. That is why this decision of changing led light color from red to blue or white colour has been taken by the Indian Railways.
